WEEK OF FEBRUARY 15

Monday, February 15 
12:15-1:30 PM – Intro to British Parliamentary debate (rules, conventions, team and speaker roles, primary argumentation)
Tuesday, February 16 
4:30-5:20 PM –Instruction – Case-writing
6-7:15 PM – Speech 61 (for those enrolled in professional communication/Tuesday class)
8-9:30 PM – Instruction – Comprehensive Intro for New Debaters
8-10 PM – Debate practice for new and experienced debaters (please register with Michelle Ramirez, mramirez23@cmc.edu)
Wednesday, February 17
12-1:30 PM – Office hours with John Meany for intercollegiate debate (questions from any member of the Debate Union)
1:30-2:10 PM – Instruction – Rebuttals (best practices)
4:30-6:30 PM – Debate practice for new and experienced debaters (please register with Michelle Ramirez, mramirez23@cmc.edu)
Thursday, February 18
12:15-1 PM – Instruction – Rebuttals (best practices)
1:15-2 PM – Instruction – Public Speaking for Debate
3-5 PM – Office Hours – PDP secondary school students
5-6 PM – Office Hours – PDP secondary school parents
6-8 PM – Office Hours – PDP secondary school teachers/coaches

1-2:15 Intro to British Parliamentary debate (rules, conventions, team and speaker roles, primary argumentation)
Tuesday, February 23 
4:30-5:25 PM – Instruction – Generic argumentation (topic categories and additional generic arguments for BP prop/opp)
6-9:00 PM – Speech 61 (for those enrolled in professional communication/Tuesday class – extemporaneous speech performance schedule announced to enrolled students via email)
8-10 PM – Debate practice for new and experienced debaters (please register with Michelle Ramirez, mramirez23@cmc.edu)
Wednesday, February 24
12-1:30 PM – Office hours with John Meany for intercollegiate debate (questions from any member of the Debate Union)
1:30-2:10 PM – Instruction – Generic argumentation (topic categories and additional generic arguments for BP prop/opp)
2:15-3 PM – Instruction – Refutation n (primary, efficiency, role, offensive, using POIs)
4:30-6:30 PM – Debate practice for new and experienced debaters (please register with Michelle Ramirez, mramirez23@cmc.edu)
Thursday, February 25
12:15-1 PM – Instruction – Misc – Practice Debate Critiques (common issues)
1:15-2 PM – Instruction – Case-writing
3-5 PM – Office Hours – PDP secondary school students
5-6 PM – Office Hours – PDP secondary school parents
